what type of flooring should i use in my living room,will have log burner in room .

what type of floor covering to go for, infront of burner there is original

Slate looks fantastic but can be very cold & is visually more

Personally, I would suggest either engineered wood flooring (like laminate  
but with a layer of real wood on top) or solid wood floor boards. Wood has  
a cosier feel, & it can look as contemporary as you want it to. Use rugs  
to add more colour & warmth to the room & to tie ur scheme together.

my parents have a log burner in their front room and they have

got a nice deep red tile around it which is great, the colour the flames

also remember to clean the glass regularly, it gets soot on it and if left
