Slate looks fantastic but can be very cold & is visually more pebbles suited to kitchens than living rooms. Even if you do have a log burner, Registered User you will struggle to heat the room & keep it feeling warm with slate Joined: Sunday, 23rd of May 2010, 22:01:45 flooring. If you do install it, I would seriously recommend that you add Posts: 2017 underfloor heating. Viewed 9102 times
Personally, I would suggest either engineered wood flooring (like laminate
but with a layer of real wood on top) or solid wood floor boards. Wood has
a cosier feel, & it can look as contemporary as you want it to. Use rugs
to add more colour & warmth to the room & to tie ur scheme together.

We have wood Laminate flooring. I really like it because it is Diamond Diva??? easy to clean and looks nice with our rustic/cabin decor. I agree slate Registered User would be cold unless you have floor radiant heat installed. It would also Joined: Monday, 19th of April 2010, 23:13:23 be a pain to clean because of the texture.
